My Favorite Apps (so far)

I’ve owned my M1 MacBook Air for a little over two weeks at this point. I love it, probably more than I originally thought I would. Coming from a lifetime of Windows there were some adjustments, but that’s another story for another day.

One of the biggest things that I’ve come to understand is that programs are different, use cases are different, things in this ecosystem are just different. I’ve had the chance to try out a lot of different apps to fill the void that I’ve got for programs, and while some of them are more functional, some of them are just fun.

Let’s get into it.

Rectangle

Rectangle is one of those apps to help me adjust to an Apple computer. It’s functional, kind of fun, and super useful. It provides me with the ability to snap programs to quadrants of my screen. Windows has this functionality baked in and it works, but I think Rectangle just does it better. It gives you a wide variety of options like filling one-third of the screen with an application and the other two-thirds with another. Super useful if I just need a reference browser window open while I’m coding in another. It’s not flashy, it just does its job and it does it well.
